My students have speech-language impairments. Technology is necessary for our state standards, and comes at a cost our school doesn't have. The students need access to the technology. I have an iPad, however another is needed so that they can utilize in a small group rotation with more hands to access.
My students range from 6th to 8th graders and many are in an inclusive environment.
However, there are students in our functional unit that work on life skills and range from non-verbal to verbal.
My Project
This iPad obviously will continue to enhance the speech-language skills of all students in the middle school setting. This includes, but is not limited to articulation, voice, grammar and vocabulary skills. I constantly loan the other iPad to those students or teachers in need. Thanks to this site and generous folks like yourself, teachers like us can continue to support our kiddos and provide the full benefits that are out there online. Also, teachers are being reviewed with the use of technology with not many resources. Luckily for me, I enjoy the hands on technology. It always seems to captivate the group and keeps them engaged.
