My Students

We start the day by doing a quick writing prompt that sparks the students' creative thinking skills. My students thrive on the support of demonstrations and illustrations, which encourages deep and inquiry based thinking. With the support of visuals, my students are able to further their thinking.

My students come from greatly diverse backgrounds.

They have very different academic, emotional and socio economical needs. Despite these difference, the students at my school have a great love of school. They come to school with the excitement to learn. They enjoy learning new ideas and concepts from their teachers and love being around their peers. As their teacher, I want to provide them with a supportive learning environment by giving them access to great educational tools and supplies. My school is a great community of teachers, parents, neighbors and students who come together to support all academic, social and emotional needs of the students.

My Project

My students are learning to write essays and are loving every minute of it! They take the writing topics and run with it, using their creative imaginations and ideas to write very detailed essays. With the requested mobile whiteboard/chart board, my students will have access to even more writing space, a place to brainstorm writing ideas and topics and a place to share their writing and illustrations with peers. As their teacher, I will use the mobile whiteboard for an additional teaching space and will have the luxury of using it for writing and Language Arts lessons wherever I need to. However, this mobile whiteboard can be used for all teaching throughout the day. With the advantage it being mobile, we can even use it in our outdoor classroom space in our school yard!

Currently, my class has one white board which I use for all teaching and lessons throughout the day.

At times, I run out of board space and often need to use poster paper to continue any more teaching needed. These extra pieces of poster paper are hung throughout the class or on the board, creating an unorganized learning space for the students. With an additional mobile board, my students will have access to a much needed place for teaching and learning.
