My Project

I work at a lower socially economic school that has high needs students in Wasilla, AK. Meadow Lakes Elementary continues to feel the affects of COVID-19 both academically and social-emotionally. Our goal this year is to help our 300 students to grow in both their academics and self-esteem. COVID-19 has taken its toll, and we are climbing out way out. We want our students to love coming to school to see their teachers and friends.

Items I'm requesting such as the social skills board games, weighted lap pad and the 5 minute communication activities will help our students continue to self-regulate their emotions so that they can have the most optimal learning environment.

At times our students come to school hungry, so it will be nice to offer them a snack like the ones I'm requesting to fill their bellies to help them concentrate in class.
