My Project

My 9th-12th grade students are brilliant, creative thinkers who learn (and teach me lots) in a chronically under-resourced district. These materials will allow us to create authentic, usable sketchbooks to experiment and create in an urban agricultural school.

This year, each of my students will build their own visual journal and sketchbook.

This paper will help them use a variety of materials, since copy paper (what we have now) is only acceptable for dry media like pencils.

Using choice-based arts pedagogy, I facilitate functional and organized spaces where all materials live in stations that are fully accessible to students to use in multi-media projects. This paper will be used for students to create and design their own sketchbooks as a beginning of the year project, to use throughout the year.
