My Students

"Math folder...Where's my math folder? I don't know where it is! Do you have it? Did I leave it somewhere?" Imagine getting ready to complete an activity and not being able to locate it. Well, it's about time we get organized!

Our school is a second home for our students.

It is a safe haven in a neighborhood that doesn't allow them to feel that way. Our school is run by an incredible team of educators. We treat our students as they are our own. We watch them grow from year to year and many return to share their successes with their teachers after they have graduated. We are continuing to grow as a school, first starting with just two grades, and have made the community and parents realize the importance of being involved.

My Project

Our classroom contains tables that students sit at with their peers. This is great for the small groups and cooperative learning that we do, however, they do not have their own space to keep their needed notebooks, folders, and reading books. The bins will provide that organization that many of our diverse learners need in order to be successful. The hooks will provide a means to hang their work that they are proud of and the storage bins will be used for any materials the students need.

For the learners in our room, organization is essential in their learning.

Many students have learning disabilities. Our students can have the much needed first step of being organized by the materials I've requested. Being able to locate their notes and books will cause less stress when beginning an activity. Being prepared is the first way to being successful. Having a bin of their own at their table will help alleviate the feeling of confusion while keeping their hard work organized!
