Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We use calculators almost daily in our Algebra 1 class. They support student learning by verifying that their steps and more importantly their thinking are on the right track. Students can focus more on the grade-level concepts and those who struggle with basic arithmetic especially benefit from their use as they aren't hindered as much by the learning gap.

With these tools, students have the opportunity to view math in multiple representations and use different technology to solve problems.

By learning to use these tools, they develop skills such as attending to precision, modeling, and using appropriate tools strategically.
