Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal for this project is that my students have the resources to encourage reading and good choices as well as have the means to present content and arrange their environment in a clean and organized way. All students deserve a learning environment free from distractions. Items such as the clipboards, magnetic hooks, and organizing aids will help me arrange the classroom neatly so that students will not be overstimulated by unorganized items. Items such as books and stickers reward them for the hard work they do during the school year as well as provide interesting worlds and narratives that they can immediately develop an interest in. This will facilitate a love of reading outside of school. Visual aids such as the timer and the emotional awareness chart will help students learn to manage time and think critically about how they are feeling and why. It is a challenge for students in higher elementary school grades to focus on school as their social and emotional world develops. I want my students to have the benefit of being able to focus, feeling the reward of success, and developing independent skills like time management and emotional awareness. My students and their sense of worth and interest mean everything to my classroom, and I want them to have the resources to best encourage those things. Thank you for considering my project!
