My Students

My 3rd-grade classroom is filled with passionate learners. We have a school- wide mission to encourage participation and student engagement.

My students are vivacious, excited, curious, enthusiastic... and antsy.

They love to move and create and I do my best to facilitate that desire. I am looking for materials that will interest and encourage my students to participate and try hard to be successful. Our students love math and science and we encourage them at every opportunity to pursue futures with a STEM focus. That starts right here, with me. Thank you for any support!

My Project

An area that I see a need in for my students is with math skills. Studies have shown that a student who can see math in action and use hands-on skills will be the most successful.

I would like my students to have manipulatives on hand to not just "tell" about math but really "show" math.

The items I am requesting are tools my students can use in math centers. For example, the tiles will be used to make arrays or to show grouping. The base 10 blocks will help my students understand rounding numbers. The mini clocks can help the students understand telling time and elapsed time. The playing cards and dice will be used for math fluency work.

3rd grade introduces multiplication and division, a hard concept and a lifelong skill and any practice my students can have is a benefit for their future.
