My Students
My students are driven and eager to learn each day they come into school. I provide a safe space for them to learn and grow each day and provide them real life experiences to things we are learning. My students love to do hands-on activities and share stories about what is going on in their life. I have 8 English learners who need access to more materials and hands on activities that allow them to connect with the lessons we are learning. The active lessons allow them to be motivated and want to find new ways to be creative thinkers and problem solvers.
My class consists of 25 amazing students that have established a growth mindset in my classroom and continue to amaze me every day.
Something I have started to implement in my classroom is the importance of independent learning. When students are able to self manage themselves through independent learning they are able to take those skills with them in the future. Another thing that is important to my students is building a community. Our room is a family and they would love access to reach their full potential.
My Project
These hands on math activities will be used for math centers in my classroom for students to get additional practice with addition and place value. They will be able to play games and master math skills with their peers and have fun while doing so. Flashcards and interactive math facts are a great way to engage the students and have them be excited about math. These students deserve so much and I am hoping to provide them with the best resources to achieve that!
Arts and crafts get their minds flowing in creative ways!
They will be able to participate in fun activities during the school year with these resources! Being able to have construction paper and other resources will help them create fun projects and be able to bring gifts home to their parents! My students are creative driven and would love the opportunity to let their mind run free with these supplies.
