This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom of students is from all over the world! I love reading books that provide mirrors and windows: opportunities to see themselves in a story and windows into worlds they have not yet experienced.

My little learners love to read stories and truly light up when they encounter a book that reflects their lives.

Every year, we begin our curriculum with stories about children who discover the world's expanding power of reading. My goal is for students in my classroom to have similar experiences that uplift them and inspire them to become lifelong readers.
