My Students

I'm a Speech Language Pathologist working with a diverse population of students who exhibit difficulties communicating their wants and needs. Instead of speaking, they may use tears or gestures, or they will withdraw from an activity to avoid a task. My students are growing up in a low income community with limited resources. School allows them opportunities to grow as individuals, each at their own pace. All of my students receive Speech and Language services, which support them both within the classroom and in their community.

My Project

The iPads minis will allow my students to learn vocabulary and utilize cutting edge resources to expand their language development. The students of today are highly motivated when using games and technology. Through the use of the iPads students will be able to participate in various readings, responses to questions and learn valuable skills to be applied in their future. By providing them with the tools they need to succeed, they will be further prepared and show greater confidence to become successful citizens. As an educator it is my responsibility to try to provide them with as many tools as possible to achieve their goals.
