This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

How will the specific items you’re requesting make a difference in their learning?

The terrarium will serve as a hands-on learning tool, allowing students to observe plant growth, ecosystems, and the water cycle firsthand.

This real-world connection to science concepts fosters deeper understanding and engagement, encouraging students to make connections between classroom lessons and the natural world. It also provides a calming focal point in the room, promoting mindfulness and a sense of responsibility as they care for the plants.

What are your goals for this project?

My primary goal is to inspire curiosity and critical thinking by creating a living, breathing classroom ecosystem. Students will learn to observe changes, document growth, and analyze how different conditions affect the environment within the terrarium. Additionally, I want to encourage a sense of ownership and teamwork as they work together to maintain it.

What makes your students special?

My students are inquisitive, creative thinkers who thrive when given the chance to explore and experiment. They bring unique perspectives to every project and are eager to apply what they learn to real-life situations. Their passion for science and their willingness to embrace challenges make them truly special, and I want to nurture that enthusiasm through interactive and meaningful learning experiences like this one.
