Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our current easel is very old, with a broken drying rack, dust in places we can't reach to clean, and stains from generations of mini-artists that have come and gone. Our students love to use it but we have a constant worry that it will collapse in front of them.
We need a new easel so our students can feel like the artists they are.
Furthermore, painting at an easel activates different muscles in the hands and wrist than painting on a flat horizontal surface. It helps to strengthen these muscle and develop fine motor skills. So we will hold on to our old easel for them for as long as possible but we would be truly grateful to bring a new one into our classroom for them.
