Over 200 students at my school are just beginning a social/emotional learning journey. A part of this is learning how to regulate emotions. One way to achieve l mindfulness and learn to regulate is through yoga.
They are eager to learn more about how to regulate emotions and get along socially.
In just a few months, they are already learning how to be inclusive and develop empathy. They are ready for a positive change!!
As a part of social and emotional learning, students learn many strategies on how to calm and regulate themselves.
This yoga set will help students learn a very important mindfulness technique.
During SEL we focus on a lot of different ways to calm and regulate our emotions. Yoga is an amazing way to combine body and mind to help students learn how to regulate emotions. Students at our school have very limited exposure to creative ways to be mindful. Not only will this project help students learn another way to be more mindful, but they will learn that physical activity can help to regulate emotions.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
