My Project

For this project, I am requesting various fidget toys and age-appropriate mindfulness and social-emotional learning books.

The fidget toys will be used as self-regulation tools to help students with their attention and focus in the classroom.

Also, they will be used to create calming corners that students benefit from when they feel overwhelmed or need a break. The books will be shared resources that our SEL department and team will use during story time. Also, they will be used as learning devices to teach students about emotions, self-regulation, positive affirmations, inclusivity, and to develop empathy for others. Lastly, we want our students to build growth mindsets in the classroom. Therefore, with access to these fidget toys and books, students can do so. When students are made aware of the generosity of strangers helping to provide resources for their education, they build a heightened sense of self. With your help, many students will feel more engaged and willing to participate in school!
