This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are fighters! What a challenging time this has been for them!! I am so proud of them for facing these difficult times with resilience, courage, and advocacy!!

Each of them are working hard everyday as strong and upstanding people who have big and kind hearts living through this year of pandemic.

Each of them have something valuable to share to the world.

I thank them for their trust, resilience, honesty, courage, hope, and patience amidst these difficult times!

My Project

"Mindfulness is a way of befriending ourselves and our experience." - Jon Kabat-Zinn

Meditation journals will help incorporate mindful practices into my students' daily routine and help calm anxiety and build healthy coping skills.

My students have been thrown in the world of pandemic learning and all the challenges and stress that come with it. These journals will be an outlet for their feelings, thoughts and ideas. I hope that in these journals, they will also feel inspired to write about things that make them smile, and give them joy despite the stress happening around them.
