Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am lucky to still have the opportunity to teach my students remotely. They are in a Pre-K ICT classroom. They all have different learning styles which calls for a lot of differentiated instruction. They come from a low income neighborhood and do not always come to school ready to learn. I help them feel safe and heard in my classroom. Their opinions matter in how they learn and what they want to learn. They enjoy exploring different materials through play. For most of them, in school is their only time to explore play.

My Project

These materials will help bring yoga into my classroom. During this time my students need to take time and learn to connect with their minds and bodies. Doing yoga in the classroom is important and I have seen a difference in the past. These yoga mats will give my students a sanitary and comfortable place to practice yoga in the classroom. We will practice yoga everyday before lunch to help us calm our minds and bodies. Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity during this time . My students appreciate you!
