Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in a low income neighborhood with limited resources. We are a Title I school, meaning our students are labeled as economically disadvantaged. They are students who enjoys interactive learning and they are extremely active.

This group of students has a love for learning and they are soaked into activities that challenge them and present new things.

They are eager to begin new learning adventures. Their daily motivation and enthusiasm drives learning in the classroom. Technology and interactive learning has become a tool needed in every classroom. They have just come back to school and we are working on mindfulness, focus, and Social Emotional Learning after being home for over a year due to the pandemic.

My Project

The iPod will be used for Social Emotional Learning Lessons and Physical Activity. Our district has been given access to great mindfulness tools that require the downloading of apps.

Students will listen to meditations and podcasts and they will also have access to music for the art of dance and movement.

Students will practice mindfulness and use their imagination as they exercise their listening skills. Our students are second language learners, and at this age level listening skills are important to develop. The iPod will also allow us to capture moments in videos and photos that can be shared with parents and students will have as keepsakes.
