Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

School counseling addresses many important concerns that arise for our students on a daily basis. Whether it's difficulty following school rules or getting along with their peers, games are a great way to break the ice and support children's mental health and social-emotional learning. I love the work that I do because when I make a difference in a child's life, it has a ripple effect throughout the whole school and community. I teach them mindfulness and self-awareness to build their confidence, help them to put words to their feelings and improve their sense of belonging.

Play is the most effective way for children to smile and open up to new ideas and strategies for managing their day-to-day challenges.

As we engage in playing board games, they learn to follow the rules, play collaboratively, wait their turn, and have fun, win or lose! Having fun games and activities will be a great boost to our counseling sessions!!
