This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a Special Education Teacher and working with students who are mainstreaming into the General Education class, in my Learning Center want to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all my students with disabilities. Many of my students experience challenges with emotional regulation, and they need a safe, quiet space to retreat to when feeling overwhelmed. This calming corner will include soft seating, sensory tools, noise-canceling headphones, and calming visual aids. These materials will help my students manage anxiety, sensory overload, and other emotional needs, so they can feel safe, grounded, and ready to engage in their work.
