Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a wonderful group of eleventh-grade students this year. They are enthusiastic and eager to build meaningful connections both inside and outside the classroom. The Calm Down Crew is a mental health support club designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for students to share their experiences, manage stress, and address emotional challenges. Our club fosters a judgment-free space where individuals can connect with their peers and develop coping mechanisms to navigate life’s ups and downs.

I believe that incorporating engaging activities, such as games and snacks, will create a welcoming and energizing atmosphere for our students.

This dedicated time and space will foster a sense of community, trust, and open communication. By introducing relaxation techniques and mindfulness exercises, we can equip our students with valuable coping mechanisms to navigate the challenges of high school and beyond. The Calm Down Crew is essential for promoting mental well-being and emotional growth during these formative years. I kindly request your support in providing our juniors with the opportunity to participate in these Mindful Moments.
