This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi friends! New school, new empty art room to fill! The materials and supplies listed will help start us off with our unit plan called "Threading the Needle." A goal for the middle school students I teach is to re-train the hand-eye connection to material and textiles which requires slow and intentional work.

The lessons planned will follow lessons on community work, textile waste, upcycling, mending relationships while mending materials.

Woven works will be used for book making and storytelling. Your donations will help us to have access to restorative methods of creating.
