My Students

I am the Mindfulness Educator for my school in Brooklyn, New York! I teach Pre-K through 5th grade mindfulness through sound therapy, yoga, meditation, and an embodiment practice. My classroom makeup involves a diverse student population who all learn in their own unique way.

I love allowing my students to use our classroom as a second home.

I am currently trying to enhance my classroom environment for all students to allow for them to tap into their bodies and the environment around them. My students enjoy using the classroom resources that enrich learning. Each year, adding a new component to my classroom brings such joy to the children and a refreshing excitement for me. I am so happy that Donors Choose makes that possible!

I feel my new project, creating sound with mindfulness will aid to an enhanced awareness that will make learning more accessible to my students. Sound meditation with allow for an enhanced focus and decrease adverse feelings that our littles encounter daily. Thanks for checking in!

My Project

Students in my class tune into the present moment by using the sounds of their environment to ground and feel into their bodies. We use our breath and the sounds of the environment to understand how mindfulness can bring us into the present moment, the only moment we ever have!

Through the use of sound therapy and different types of instruments, we tune into the sounds and the vibrations of the sound tools to create an embodied experience of what mindfulness is.

Students continue to thoroughly enjoy these types of meditations where they can access their environment through the calming effects of sound, expressing how the experience made them feel through our whole class reflections.
