My Students

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and 35% of the school population is economically disadvantaged. With the current situation, our country is facing with the pandemic, many of my students have been affected in some way. Many of my students' parents have been laid off from work and are now facing serious issues in the home.

As wonderful as it is to be with my students face to face during the school day and having them engage in physical activity during PE, this is a completely different situation, trying to find creative ways to have my students continue to be active physically from a distance is extremely frustrating.

I am looking for ways to continue to be the inspiration in their lives to have them continue with good health and fitness.

My Project

As a football coach and an athletic director, I am providing high-quality after school programs to promote positive youth development and offer a safe space where youth can explore their potential.

Attending high-quality afterschool programs and regular participation in physical activities can lead to improved social and emotional competencies including prosocial behavior, intrinsic motivation, better concentration efforts, and a higher sense of self-worth.

In addition, preseason strength and conditioning programs prepare my athletes for their upcoming season. In particular, building a strong foundation is important for improving skills, preventing future injury, and quickly enhancing overall fitness. Additional exercise equipment will help my football team prepare for the upcoming season. Although preseason strength and conditioning is challenging, it helps athletes transition into high-intensity training and keeps them strong throughout their competition season.
