My Project

My high school students ROAR by being Responsible, Organized, Accountable, Respectful.

The hope is that through comforting, motivational, and fun experiences, students will be inspired and empowered.

They will use the decorations, food, and other items (studio backdrops) for an event to help combat the challenges that students face on a daily basis in order to succeed. They also use them to create a calming room (bean bag chairs and curtains) for students to de-escalate or express emotions safely in order to prevent violent acts from occurring or to improve emotional well-being.

The majority of other students have had a friend or family member affected by gun violence. Several students are in transitional or low-income housing. The Student Government Association is looking to help its peers overcome these and other adversities to achieve academic and career goals.
