My Project

Math journals are used by learners to record student methods, explanations and ideas for solving math problems and learning of mathematical concepts.

Giving our students a space to use math journals to record their thinking and understandings, provides teachers with insight into and understanding of mathematical ideas, allowing them to assess and address misconceptions as they surface.

This grant will provide each student mathematician at our school with a math journal using composition notebooks and binders. These journals will be set up in each math class. Students will also use their math journals in intervention and acceleration classes.
