My Students

My school is a lovely school on the border of Forest Hills, Rego Park and Corona in Queens New York. Being in the most diverse borough our school community represents many different countries. Our team also reflects that with students from different grades, boys and girls, races, cultures, gifted and talented, ICT classrooms and general ed classrooms. They wake up early 2-3 times a week (depending on if they are on the JV team-working on skills or Varsity team- where we play other teams in our district) arriving at school at 730 and practicing till 815. The student-athletes are dedicated, hard-working, leaders, and represents what it means to be team players. Then they refocus on being the best student they can be.

They look at me as someone who inspires them but these little ones are the ones that drive me every day to get better from their ability to show up and give it 100 percent.

My Project

The basketballs that I selected for the team are never flat basketballs that will last longer and give them quality basketballs to practice with. These basketballs will be beneficial to their growth as basketball players. It will give each player more time to have a basketball in their hands then waiting for a player to finish a drill. The basketball we currently have is torn, has lumps in it and needs to be constantly pumped for use.

With these basketballs, students will get super excited and have more self-confidence using a brand new NBA replica ball to practice with.
