Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We get excited when we hear and see elementary students read their favorite books. However, have you seen a middle schooler read a book by choice and have a conversation with their peers? The books selected, such as Ghost Boys, Efren Divided, and How To Fold A Taco, will be available to these middle schoolers to allow them to see themselves in these stories. And the coffee table will give them a place to store books as well as gather around to read and discuss them.

A book can be a mirror to a student which reflects back into what they want to become!

Often times we think the magic is lost, but all it takes is one book to change a person's life. Please help me provide this opportunity to these scholars who are hungry for knowledge.
