My Project

Middle school is a highly formative time in a child's life. Middle school students are constantly learning about themselves, others, and the world in which they live. During this period of rapid growth, the learning needs of each child vary greatly.

My middle school students are energetic, enthusiastic, and empathetic.

They need a diverse learning environment and a range of supplies to allow them to develop both academically and socially. Our school serves students from the city and surrounding towns which means our student population is diverse and robust.

This project would help provide my students with more screen-free options for indoor recess. At my school, we see the value in providing students of all ages with breaks for the academic demands of the school day. Kids need to be kids! During recess, we try to provide students with as many technology-free activities to get them socializing with their peers. This project would help refresh my stock of games. Uno is a crowd favorite, so having a few new decks would definitely help get more games going. Chess and checkers are classic games that kids still enjoy. The rainbow scratch-off pads and roll paper will provide options for students who want to be more creative.
