Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are sixth, seventh and eight graders. They attend a K-8 center in South Florida. Most students are from low-income households and are learning English as their second language.

Please help us start a YOGA CLUB FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS.

I know the physical and mental benefits of yoga. I have taught yoga to adults for several years.

The children want to get in on the act! They will need special equipment for yoga class: mats, blocks, straps, blankets etc.

My Project

With all those hormones - and all that algebra - my middle school math students can get pretty stressed out. They know that I can help them. As well as teaching math, I am a certified yoga instructor. Last year, I taught yoga to a group of teachers after school. My students are jealous! They want us to found a yoga club for kids. The students intend to meet every day after school, with different students in every session. A yoga club would help the middle schoolers unwind, and would be great for their health + social skills. Please help us acquire basic yoga supplies like mats, blocks, and blankets for our new club.
