My Project
Our school garden has in educational and social opportunities for our students teacher and community. Our students spend many hours in the garden. They love even meeting after school to volunteer. Now some of the basic gardening tools such as shovels, scissors and fertilizers need to be replenished. Our students are great working as a team to fill beds, plant seedlings, and trim plants and maintaining the gardens but we do not have enough equipment to keep them all on task.
The school herb and vegetable garden is the perfect place to bring our science classes.
Plant structure, photosynthesis, ecosystems even the quality of soil is taught in the school gardens. Through the school year we always need soil conditioners and fertilizers to maintain our vegetable and herb plants. School gardens only use organic fertilizers when fertilizing something edible. Organic also helps to sustain the the health of beneficial insects such as bees, worms, and micro organisms.
