My Project

Hi, please support my middle special education classroom! As the year has progressed, we have found we are missing some crucial resources, such as a standing white board, scientific calculators, student workbooks, a printer, and more.

A place to to be physically engaged in the lesson sets my neurodiverse students up for success!

The standing white board would create a collaborative space for instruction and group work. My school currently only has chalk boards, which are very difficult to clean and a sensory issue for several students. The white board is much more accessible for all students as well because it is on wheels. It allows students to stand while they work and helps when there are several different small groups happening simultaneously. While we are working on math at the white board, many of my students accommodations require calculators, so the scientific calculators will be necessary for middle level math.

As a special education classroom, we are not given any sort of curriculum that fits the needs of all students, thus, I spend a lot of time creating lessons and materials from scratch. The student workbooks will be very helpful for student progress monitoring and save me time in lesson planning. In order to scaffold, a printer will be extremely helpful for in the moment changes and adaptation as days are unpredictable and students needs change moment to moment. Additionally, as a special education teacher, we need to print classified documents that should not be printed on a public printer, so this would give my students the privacy they deserve. Finally, we are running low on sanitary items and small everyday supplies such as crayons, markers, wet wipes and more. Thank you for supporting our amazing students!
