My Project

My students are often hungry in the morning when they come into class or in the afternoon towards the end of school. Many students bring their own snacks, but I know there are students who cannot afford or don't have access to the types of snacks they may want. I have a closet of hygiene items that my students use and I want to add snacks to it for students who may need that something to get them through the day.

Food has always been a way to show love in my eyes, and I want to show my love to my students in this way to make sure their needs are cared for.

Food insecurity is an epidemic in this country and being able to be a safe space where a hungry child can come for a snack is such a blessing. As we are entering testing season, I know these snacks are going to make a huge difference in motivation and stamina to get through the review and high stakes testing.
