My Project

I teach some awesome students who just so happen to have multiple disabilities. My students range in grade from 5th to 8th grade; however, their cognitive levels are that of a preschool to first grade level student. I teach in a public school system through a county-wide placement. So my students come to me from multiple districts throughout the county. Despite their struggles, my students are the kindest most unconditional loving students you would ever have the pleasure of meeting, they simply LOVE to come to school and learn!

However, all of my students have sensory needs and struggle to sit and learn like a traditional student would.

At times my students become overwhelmed with the environment and daily demands of school. Some days just getting to school is a struggle. When they enter my classroom I want them to feel safe, loved, CALM, and know that they belong. Of course a classroom is a place of learning but learning cannot take place if sensory needs are not met.
