This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Novel studies help build community in a classroom, build stamina, and improve comprehension and fluency skills. Our goal this year is to expose our middle school scholars to novel studies using books that are engaging. By doing this we hope to get them excited to read and eager to explore more novels in various genres.

Our school is a Title I school and has limited access to classroom novel sets that are engaging and at grade level.

These Touching Spirit Bear novel sets are an educational tool that we need in order to enhance their reading and learning skills. Our scholars so far have been expose to Buried Onions by Gary Soto and have shown exactly what we hoped for...joy for reading novels!
