Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a newly developed literacy class at my school. Many of my students are reluctant readers. My job is to address their literacy deficits while exposing them to different types of texts. Many of my kiddos are reading below grade level. These learning gaps have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The flexible seating will allow me to fit 30 students in a room without being overwhelmed by too much furniture. My classroom is shared space. The noise cancelling headphones will be given to students to help them concentrate on the text in front of them without the distractions of the noise in the room. I chose a few posters to hang up in the classroom that are motivating and inspirational. Muy goal is to make a print rich environment that welcomes students to my room!

By donating to my project, you will be helping students reduce noise distraction by using noise cancelling headphones and allow them to get comfortable while practicing their reading strategies.

This year, I have been fortunate enough to be given my own classroom space to set up for my students. Your donation will help me create a comfortable environment for students who need to work hard to make the gains they need to read on grade level.
