My Project

Hello! My name is Izabella Battaglia, I am currently a 6th grade ELA teacher in Brooklyn, NY. This is my first year as the 6th grade ELA teacher and I want to provide my students with a diverse library of engaging and interesting books. My goal for this year is to have the students fall in love with reading, having books across different genres and topics hat the kids can relate to will foster this love. These books will elevate the level of learning in my sixth grade ELA classroom, not only next year but for years to come.

I’m also requesting donations for a document camera.

The document camera is one of my most used teaching tools in ELA. I model my reading and writing notebook on the projector, as well as annotating together, organizing thoughts and ideas etc! My current (outdated) document camera takes a very long time connecting and impedes into my teaching time. I know how beneficial to the children it will be to see all my work in my readers and writers notebooks.
