My Project

I would love to be able to teach my students glass slumping in a kiln. This would give them experience of working their way through the design process and executing the production of a product they have designed. It would also show them how much work and practice creating something functional with your own hands takes- I think that they will come out of this project with a new appreciation for handmade goods. But to make this happen, my students need glass molds, glass sheets, and glass stringers.

My students really thrive on hands on material play and working with glass would give them an experience that is unlike anything we currently do in class.

They are super smart kids that are very familiar with painting and drawing and deserve the opportunity to utilize their knowledge of color theory and elements and principals in a format that is a little different!
