My Students

I work with the targeted student populations of foster youth, English Learners, and low socioeconomic students. The trip to the aquarium will allow them exposure to the animals that live in the ocean and allow the students to gain a better understanding of marine life. Some of the students have never been to the aquarium.

The students I work with are low socioeconomic students.

Some are in foster care, and others are students who are learning the English language. My school has eager students who need some support to understand marine life and the importance of visiting museums outside of their primary neighborhood.

My Project

My students need entrance fees paid for a trip to the aquarium. The school does not have the funds to pay for the entrance fees; however, they will pay for the transportation for the students. This field trip will expose our students to a positive and rewarding experience.

Donations will improve relationships with the students.

They currently meet together to talk about concerns, issues, and schoolwork. This experience will help the different groups of students work together on different activities at our school site. Students will improve their grades in science and math class with the presentation that they will experience. The students will have to write about their experience, so this trip will also improve their writing skills.
