My Students

These students inspire me everyday! They are TrailblazersL (Literally, it's our school mascot)! Together they have endured so much and always have a positive attitude despite these COVID challenges. They are an eager bunch of middle schoolers who seem to always be looking for new ways to create.

We are a newer school so our class is pretty small, but that doesn't stop us from making a big splash in our community.

They have been fortunate enough to attend some virtual field trips and outdoor sculpture walks this past semester.

My Project

This Donor's Choose is to bring the magical peace and tranquility that Sumi Ink painting can bring to children. Art students need to experience the benefits that painting can provide now, more than ever. With these supplies, students will learn the fundamentals for Sumi Ink painting, as well as the cultural history is East Asian calligraphy.

Students will also learn how to make their own brushes, a valuable skill as an artist.

From grinding their own ink to classic brush strokes, artists will learn the mindfulness practice and patience of Sumi Ink art.
