My Project

A 3D printer can significantly enhance a robotics class by allowing students to design and create custom robot parts.

Students can quickly prototype and iterate on robot parts such as chassis, arms, or mounts.

This speeds up the design process, allowing for rapid testing and adjustments.

Robotics often requires unique parts tailored to specific tasks or designs. A 3D printer enables students to create components that traditional manufacturing methods might not accommodate.

With a 3D printer, students can create complex geometries and intricate designs that are difficult to achieve with standard materials. This allows for innovative designs that improve robot functionality.

Printing parts in-house reduces costs associated with sourcing materials or purchasing premade components. Students can experiment with different designs without worrying about budget constraints.

Operating a 3D printer teaches students valuable skills in design software, machine operation, and troubleshooting, which are all relevant in the fields of engineering and technology.

Students will also use the printer for 3D design class. Students can find a problem they or someone they know has, come up with a solution and print prototypes and test designs.
