My Project

As a kindergarten teacher at a Title I school, I have the privilege of working with a diverse group of young learners, many of whom are experiencing homelessness or are new to the country. For these students, the challenges they face extend beyond the classroom; they often arrive at school hungry and without the basic necessities that many take for granted.

My students try their best in learning every day and they deserve to have their needs met in order to be successful at school.

Providing snacks is crucial for their learning and well-being. Research shows that when children are well-fed, they are more focused, engaged, and ready to learn. Unfortunately, a significant number of my students cannot afford fruit snacks, cookies, chips and other snacks, which further hinders their ability to thrive in the classroom environment.

By funding this project, you will be helping to provide snacks that not only satisfy their hunger but also make them feel valued and cared for. These snacks will help bridge the gap for students who are struggling, allowing them to concentrate on their education rather than their hunger.

I am seeking support to purchase a variety of snacks that are easy to eat and provide the necessary energy for my kindergarteners. Your generous contribution will make a significant impact on the lives of my students. It will not only improve their focus and learning but also foster a sense of community and support among our diverse classroom. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.
