Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am honored and humbled to teach an amazing group of hardworking and determined first graders. My students attend a Title I school on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. My students come from low-income communities, and all receive free or reduced lunch. Many of my students are learning English as their second language and some are the only person in their family to read and speak English.

We will be working hard all year to achieve our big goals!

My Project

My students need new supplies and materials within our classroom. We are in need of a new pencil sharpener, new homework folders, and new chart paper to support our learning this year. Unfortunately many basic supplies are not provided by our school and teachers are required to purchase them. It is imperative that we have these materials to enhance our growth and help us reach our goals. Without basic materials like a pencil sharpener we are unable to continue our daily learning. Please consider donating to our classroom to help support my hardworking and smart students on achieving their big goals!
