My Students

Last year, we produced ENYESE's first musical, The Jungle Book Kids, with the third, fourth, and fifth graders. It was an INCREDIBLE experience for all of us! This year, we want to make our student production of The AristoCats Kids even better! Starting with the audio.

Our students worked so hard last year to make our show a success.

About 45 third, fourth, and fifth graders stayed after school twice a week and put in the effort to achieve their goal. This year, we have the same number of eager children. As both the technical and musical director, I saw room for improvement, especially in the sound of our production. I've spent the last seven months thinking about how we can improve the overall sound quality of our production. I researched different methods and viewed multiple musicals and came up with an efficient, reasonable solution. That brings us to this point. I want everyone to hear ALL of our students deliver their dialogue in our poorly designed auditorium. I want everyone to hear each of their passionate voices singing the songs that they worked so hard each week to refine.

My Project

We will use the boundary microphone to mic the stage strategically so that ALL students can be heard from every part of the stage. Whether they are upstage or downstage, they will be heard. The wireless lavalier microphones that were generously donated last year will also be used in conjunction with this mic. These mics worked for the most part last year, but were ultimately not ideal. They gave us a lot of problems and didn't always do the job. Through the process last year, I discovered that headset mics would be more useful, so I am asking for an inexpensive set to mic the main characters.

Sound in theater production may arguably be the most important element, especially in musicals.

If you can't hear the singing, and you can't follow the dialogue, then you won't fully enjoy a musical. I want to ensure the success of our students' production, and we need your help to do it.
