My Students

Technology is very important for students in 21st century learning. My students come from a background where access to technology is scarce. 90% of my students do not have access to technology at home. Due to this, their knowledge of technology based instruction does not allow them the opportunity to understand and learn the importance of technology form their future careers.

The moment I showed my students how technology can increase their growth they were all in!

My students love to be able to work out and solve problems by using technology and collaborating with one another. My students also love to create projects and work in their free time on designing, building, and creating math activities, math games, and lessons with whiteboards and markers. By creating an environment to do so, it allows them to become high achieving students. Because my students do not have access to technology, it makes it hard for them to prepare the types of careers they will have as well as keep them engaged.

My Project

My students will be able to work and collaborate with Microsoft OneNote and Skype with the tools needed in this project. The keyboard will allow my students who have certain disabilities to create and collaborate with their peers more effectively. The pen will allow my students to take notes on the tablet in order to use that to share their mathematical ideas outside of thru usual pen and paper.

Microsoft Technology will allow my students to learn the critical thinking skills to succeed in a 21st century learning environment.

If my students are able to get this keyboard and pen, they will be able to learn skills such as collaboration and critical thinking that will assist them for jobs that have not been created for them yet.

Using these Microsoft tools in the math classroom will allow students to use 3D imaging, create and manipulate expressions and equations, and also teach them organization with their math materials. My students need the ability to have access to the proper technology in order to promote healthy learning in the math classroom.
