My Students

My 90 eighth grade students are very excited about learning. They come from a low socioeconomic background with over 85% being eligible for free lunch. These students are very respectful and responsible and have been working towards restorative justice over the past three years. This work, and their focus on mindfulness this year, has really helped them to become more reflective and responsible as middle school students both inside and outside of the community.

Math is challenging for many people, however, my students are always striving to have a growth mindset as mathematicians and have found great pride in themselves when they begin to watch themselves master the content.

It is a beautiful thing to be able to watch students recognize their abilities and their worth, day in and day out.

My Project

I am requesting a wireless mouse for each of my students to help them be more successful during virtual learning. My students have been provided with laptops to help them succeed during virtual learning. However, it has proven difficult for many and the addition of this wireless mouse will make learning easier for my students.

In today's uncertain times, making learning as easy and accessible as possible for my students can help to ensure that they stay on their path towards graduation.

This project will help with just that. A wireless mouse will decrease the number of time students spend on each individual assignment and in turn, will help them to create better work samples.
