Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Queens, NY was one of the hardest-hit cities in the Tri-State region. My students live in a densely populated neighborhood and have been affected in many ways, along with the rest of the nation.

My students are experiencing a moment in history they will revisit for the rest of their lives.

My students love school, and I look forward to making sure I can help them have a piece of what they remember from school, in their homes. Using Google Classroom has been a great learning experience for us all, but I've learned more than anything that my students miss the human connection.

They miss their classmates and teachers. By making sure I can still provide them with lesson videos I make, or projects I've created, I can help my students navigate through these unprecedented times.

My Project

While teaching from home isn't easy, I am constantly exploring ideas on how I can connect with my students from a distance.

Human connection is what I've realized makes school so special.

I miss my students, and I miss teaching them. These materials will help me boost that home to school connection.

With these materials, I can personalize and adapt my lessons. Laminating special projects and my own bitmojis and using magnet pieces to create special lessons. I can't wait to show my students what I have in store for them.
