Help Ms. Burkett

I am an elementary music teacher at a primary charter school. All of my students live in the surrounding urban area in Illinois, many coming from high-need families.

I would like to provide my students with an oppurtunity to create their own music videos. These videos may be informative, song performances or multicultural dance performances. My students love learning about music and love even more to perform and to watch thier friends perform. MeTV will give the students a chance to take part in every step of compiling a collection of student music videos.

The only resource that I need for this project is a small and easy to use video recorder. The flip camera is perfect for this project because it is very small, very easy to use, and video can be uploaded onto our classroom computer in moments. This project will give my amazing students a time to shine, a chance to be creative, a chance to see what their peers are up to, and a chance to have fun.

You will make it possible for my students to use technology in the fine arts and to create informative, fun, age appropriate music videos. These short music videos will be uploaded onto the school network for all of our teachers and students to see. Having access to our own video camera will make creating unique performance videos as easy as record, review, upload!
