Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is an honor this academic year to have young scholars who are eager and determined to learn. The school is classified as a Title One school. Therefore, the scholars and families lack basic essentials. Many of the scholars in my classroom have recently arrived from their native countries. The scholars' native countries consist of the following: Bangladesh, Lebanon, China, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Senegal.

My class is categorized as English as New Language.

In addition, the scholars are deficient in foundation skills (e.g. addition, subtraction, etc.). Many of my scholars have not had the opportunity to attend elementary school in their native countries. The scholars’ academic deficits are in the following subjects: Language, Reading, Writing and Math.

However, despite the scholars' academic deficits, they are enthusiastic and strive to learn. I am dedicated to supporting scholars and families by providing school supplies (e.g. notebooks, pencils and book bags).

Finally, I support the scholars to develop self-confidence, independence and thrive to succeed academically and socially.

My Project

Scholars need Hammermill Paper, Copy Paper, 8.5 x 11 Paper, Letter Size, 20lb Paper, 92 Bright, 8 Ream Case for duplication of instructional resources such as Parent Communication Notices, Graphic Organizers, Visual Aid, Exams, Homework, and more.

The school lacks the basic materials and resources.

Therefore, I constantly struggle to obtain the basic materials needed in class.

In addition, scholars need Highland Notes, 3 x 3-Inches, Yellow, 24-Pads/Pack for metacognition. Scholars can use the Highland Notes, 3 x 3-Inches to write thoughts, logical ideas and reasoning and post it on chart paper.

Scholars desperately, need Pre-sharpened Wood Cased #2 HB Pencils to note take and write important assignments and tasks.

Scholars desperately need all materials.
