Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the absolute privilege of working at the most fantastic Title 1 school with the most amazing students. With over 100 English as a Second Language students, it is imperative to use mentor texts to teach with. These engaging books will use instruction designed specifically for English language learners to develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.

Mentor books are a powerful way to unite grammar, reading, writing, language, and vocabulary.

Each of these books can be used across grade levels and with varying ability levels. One book creates a minimum of 6 different lessons. By using the same text these students will do a deep dive into all aspects of language while using strategies to improve their English skills.
